Family Time, Precious Time

Three years ago this summer I moved away from my family and friends and began a new journey in life in Texas. Twice a year I’m able to come and visit my mom, and it’s not until recently that I have really learned to appreciate everything she’s done for me. I’ve finally learned to really love my sisters and not see them as annoying. And I’ve really learned to love my stepdad and everything he’s done for me, especially the times he did things and didn’t have to.

Easter Weekend

Dear Readers, let me first start off by saying that I am in shock at the number of likes my last post got. THANK Y’ALL. Y’all are awesome. Dear Dadjy, I loved spending the weekend with you! Just the two of us was nice. We haven’t had that since before you got married. I really liked it. Dear Big Brudder, thanks for teaching me how to shoot this weekend! Guess I’m gonna have to buy my own gun now. Dear Roommates, we are seriously stressing each other out right now. We need to take a step back and reevaluate this whole finding new roomies situation. I really hate stepping on y’alls toes or making anyone mad. Dear God, thank You for sending Your Son to die for us, for our sins. You are amazing. You defeated death, You rose again on the third day, You were and always will be victorious over the enemy!

Thinking Thursday

Dear Jaclyn, I absolutely LOVED having coffee/lunch with you today. You are such a blessing in my life and I always enjoy our conversations. Dear Barista, thank you so much for paying for our lunch and coffee. You didn’t have to do that, but you did anyways. It was so unexpected and so nice of you! Dear Dadjy, thank you for helping me out these past couple of months and for helping me get back on my feet financially as I was between jobs. You didn’t have to do it, but you did and I appreciate it. Dear Momma, I miss you so much. UGH it kills me.

Resolution Time

I’m a couple days late in posting this, but here are my New Years Resolutions for 2013:

  1. To memorize one verse of scripture each week.
  2. To commit to manage my money more wisely, making a budget and sticking to it.
  3. To practice patience and kindness to those around me.
  4. To make SOME craft from Pinterest.
  5. To communicate with my extended family more.
  6. To do random acts of kindness to complete strangers.
  7. To be more confident and let myself out of my shell more often.

It’s an extensive list, but I think that I can do it! What are some of your resolutions for the new year?! I’d love to hear them!

Turbulence Tuesday

Dear Airplane, you made me very very sick today. You did not handle all that crazy turbulence too well and it made me pretty nauseous. Shaky hands, cold sweat, loss on energy, and on top of that I looked like a ghost when I got off the plane. Seriously, y’all, I was so white I scared myself. Dear Momma, I miss you dearly. I hated seeing you cry today. I wish we lived closer together. Dear Family, it’s great being back home. I missed my bed. Dear Toby, you did not look very pleased to see me when I came in the door. Dear Jacob, I loved that you were the first person I saw when I got off that plane. I missed you so much. We’re never traveling without each other ever again. Seriously.

It’s a New Year!

Dear Readers, it is finally 2013. I am so thankful for all the great memories that I have from 2012, but I am so ready to push on into something new. I did make a few resolutions for this year, but I will share those later. Right now, I have to pack all my stuff and head off to the airport so I can get back to Texas! Dear Momma, I loved spending New Years with you. So much laughter and good memories. I’m going to miss you so much when I leave. I miss you already. UGH. I’m going to cry… Love you Momma! Dear Jacob, I come home to you today! It’s bittersweet, yes, but I will be so happy to see you again.
